Nissan’s New Mobility Concept arrives in United States for carsharing

Nissan North America announced that they delivered 10 units of their New Mobility Concept to Scoot Network in San Francisco on October 17, 2015.

The New Mobility Concept is a very small EV that is being sold by Renault Nissan in Europe, and badged as the Twizy. And this model has already landed in the USA.

The prototype version of the Twizy was launched at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, and its production model was launched at the Paris Motor Show the following year. This city commuter EV is very small with its overall length of 2,377mm, overall width of 1,191mm, and overall height of 1,461mm. It also has a very lightweight body of 450kg even if you include its battery.

In order to maximize its space efficiency, two passengers can embark at the front and back seats of this car. Its motor has two types of power characteristic. The one with a maximum output of 9ps has a maximum speed of 45km/h, and the one with maximum output of 17ps has a maximum speed of 85km/h. Its cruising range is 100km when fully charged.

On the other hand, Scoot Network offers carsharing services in San Francisco, and aside from electric scooters, they also added carsharing services for the New Mobility Concept ultra-compact EV.
