ATTT15: Honda to introduce real-time comunication system that uses Wi-Fi

Honda Motor Co. Ltd. will exhibit at the 6th International Automotive Electronics Technology Expo to kick off at the Tokyo Big Sight on March 11 lasting until March 13. They will introduce their efforts leading to disaster prevention and mitigation.

Honda developed the V2X, a car and social infrastructure with Wi-Fi communication. It is a real-time communication system that leads pedestrians to each other with the help of a smartphone app. During normal times, flexible action is possible between each other if pedestrians exchange their planned actions ahead of time . During disasters, you can connect to each other through Wi-Fi even though the public lines may go down. It makes conveying of evacuation information possible even under these circumstances. At the venue, they introduced their services that uses the V2X unit and they will conduct a test drive demonstration.

Lastly, Honda will introduce their efforts related to disaster prevention and mitigation by using the white-out prediction information, safety map, and lastly, the public traffic performance information during the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
