Isuzu and Hino to collaborate on first domestic hybrid articulated bus, set for 2019 release

On February 13, Isuzu and Hino made an agreement to work together on developing the first hybrid articulated bus produced domestically in Japan.

Articulated buses are larger and more efficient than regular buses. The bus the two companies are collaborating on will be a size that conforms to Japanese regulations and use a hybrid system to reduce the impact on the environment. Isuzu and Hino plan to release the new bus in 2019.

Production will be handled by Jay Bus, which was founded in 2014 with investment from both companies.
