On January 22, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the US reported yet another fatality as a result of an explosion to the well-publicized Takata airbag.
According to the NHTSA, this incident occurred in December 2015 in South Carolina, US. The defective airbag was equipped on a 2006 Ford Ranger pickup truck
As a result of this accident, Ford Motors has added around 390,000 units of 2004 to 2006 Ford Ranger models to its list of recalls.
The NHTSA states, â€œThis is the ninth fatality in the US due to an explosion of the Takata airbag and the 10th in the world.â€
