Toyota Group’s global sales target up 1% to 10,495,000 units for 2018

On December 20, Toyota Motor Corporation announced that its global sales target for the Group, which includes Daihatsu and Hino Motors, for 2018 (January to December) will be 10,495,000 units or 1% above its 2017 results.

Of this total, Toyota’s sales are projected to increase by 2% to 9.5 million units, consisting of 1.55 million units, down 5%, for the Japanese market and 7.95 million units, up 3%, for overseas. Daihatsu’s sales will decline by 2% to 800,000 units, consisting of 610,000 units, down 5%, for the Japanese market and 190,000 units, up 6%, overseas. Hino’s sales are projected to increase by 6% to 195,000 units, consisting of 65,000 units, down 5%, for the Japanese market and 130,000 units, up 12%, for overseas.

Toyota also announced that its global production target for the Group for 2018 will decline by 1% to 10,397,000 units.

Of this total, Toyota’s overall production is projected to fall by 2% to 8.85 million units, comprising 3.08 million units, down 3%, domestically and 5.77 million units, down 1%, overseas. Daihatsu’s production will grow by 2% to 1.34 million units, comprising 940,000 units, down 3%, domestically and 400,000 units, up 18%, overseas. Hino’s production will rise by 5% to 207,000 units, comprising 157,000 units, up 1%, domestically and 50,000 units, up 21%, overseas.
