Hyundai is set to launch the next-gen Verna later this year. While, India is still a huge market for the mid-size sedan, the company plans to export more units than they aim to sell locally. Thus, India will soon become the production hub for the new model.
The assembly line near Chennai currently caters to more than 92 countries spread across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. South Korea, China and Russia also export the next-gen Verna. India will be the fourth country to export the new model.
The new Verna gets revised exterior and interior styling. It is likely to be offered with updated features and equipment list. Under the hood, the India-spec Verna will continue to use the 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines with the option of a 4-speed automatic transmission.
