Following the launch of the new Xcent, Hyundai has now introduced two new models aimed at fleet operators. The Grand i10 Prime and Xcent Prime are based on the old versions of the product.
In order to differentiate the commercial product, Hyundai has created the ‘Prime’ range. Thus, the facelift models will not be available for commercial buyers. At least, not until the next-gen i10 arrives in India.
“A product also introduced in the commercial segment loses aspirational value. We are trying to address this by way of a marketing initiative,” said Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Hyundai Motor India. We would like to differentiate the commercial product with the product that is going to address the requirement for personal mobility of the individual buyers. We would continue to address the requirements of the commercial segment by way of branding it differently,” he added.
Hyundai aims to sell 6,000 units per month of the Grand i10 Prime and Xcent Prime combined.
