Earlier today Mecedes-Benz India unveiled their Q1 2017 sales reports that are noted to be the company’s quarterly best sales till date. The report features Jan-March 2017 period sales selling an estimated 3,650 units, indicating an overall growth of 1%. Mercedes-Benz India indicated the successful reviving of its automotive market conviction due to its SUV segment.
With the launch of the German automaker’s SUV models that include the likes of GLS, GLE Coupe, GLE, GLC and GLA have helped the company gain an impressive 13% in the sales number for the quarter. Other than the SUV segment, the sedan models such as S-class, E-class and C-class have also exceeded expectations with the E-class gaining the maximum sales numbers for the company in the Q1 2017. Reports suggest that the success of E-class was due to the revamped wheelbase that gained the interest of the customers in India.
As noted by Mercedes-Benz India CEO, Roland Folger, the Q1 2017 results offer a positive start with a confidence to keep up with the high sales numbers in the upcoming months as well.
