On March 10, European auto giant Volkswagen announced they had signed a protocol with Indian auto maker Tata Motors in regards to forming a business alliance.
For Volkswagen, this announcement is a big step in terms of Volkswagen Group meeting their mid-term financial goals they set for 2025. By working with Tata Motors, Volkswagen can hope to expand its share of sales in the Indian market.
Matthias Müller, CEO of Volkswagen Group, commented that “the reason we entered into this strategic agreement with Tata Motors is to help build a base in India for us to provide mobility solutions that customers are looking for.”
CEO of Tata Motors Guenter Butschek stated that “we’re very pleased to announce our partnership with Volkswagen.”
