Maruti Suzuki sales of Smart Assist cars hits 100,000 in 1 1/2 years

On February 20, Suzuki India subsidiary Maruti Suzuki announced that domestic India sales of cars with Smart Hybrid had hit the 100,000 mark.

Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid (SHVS) is something like a mild hybrid system. It has taken only a year and a half for domestic sales to hit 100,000.

Suzuki introduced Smart Hybrid in September, 2015. The first model to receive it was the Ciaz. It was then added to the Ertiga. The Ciaz with Smart Hybrid on the Indian market gets 28.09km/l.

R S Kalsi, executive director, marketing & sales, Maruti Suzuki, said, “Both Ciaz SHVS and Ertiga SHVS are high on fuel efficiency, come with reduced running costs and lower levels of CO2 emission, thus making these popular among customers.”
