In early January, Honda Cars India Limited released its India sales figures for 2016. Total sales were 156,107. This is 22.9% down from the previous year.
Its December India sales excluding exports totaled 10,071, which is 18.6% down year-on-year and marks the 14th month of year-on-year decline.
Of the December total, the Amaze compact sold 3,322 units, taking the 1st place spot over from the City compact sedan. At 2nd place, the City sold 2,898 units. The Fit sold 1,601 units, the Brio sold 443, the Mobilio sold 151, and the CR-V sold 55.
The BR-V, which was just released in April, sold 1,601 units. Decemberâ€™s exports from India totaled 448 units. This is 23% up from the previous year and marks the 3rd month of growth.
Honda India sales for 2015 (April 2015 to March 2016) were up 2% at 192,059 units. This was the 3rd consecutive year of growth and set a new record.
