On November 2, Hondaâ€™s India subsidiary Honda Cars India Limited reported its sales figures for October.
According to the figures, Octoberâ€™s total sales excluding exports were 15,567 units. This is 22.8% down from the previous yearâ€™s October and marks the 12th month of year-on-year decline.
The City compact sedan sold 6,578 of the approximately 15,000. It has been Hondaâ€™s best-seller in India for the last 13 months. The Amaze compact sold 4,009 units and the Fit sold 3,011. Next was the Brio with 535, the Mobilio with 498, and the CR-V with 41 units.
The BR-V SUV, which was just released in India in April, sold 1,070 units. Exports from India for October totaled 289. This is 2.1 times higher than the previous yearâ€™s October and marks the first year-on-year growth in 2 months.
Hondaâ€™s India sales for 2015 (April 2015 to March 2016) were up 2% at 192,059 units, marking the 3rd month of growth and setting a new record.
