Suzuki Baleno

Suzuki Baleno sales hit 100,000 mark in India just one year after release

Suzuki’s India subsidiary Maruti Suzuki, which holds the top share of the Indian passenger car market, announced that domestic sales of the Baleno reached 100,000 in October.

The Baleno is Suzuki’s next-gen compact car. Maruti Suzuki released it in India in October, 2015. It is sold at the company’s newly set up NEXA high-end dealerships. In India, it is categorized as a premium hatchback.

The Baleno for India has a 1.2L gasoline engine and 1.3L diesel engine version. It’s the leader in its class for fuel economy and storage space.

Only a year after its India release, sales of the Baleno have reached 100,000. It has also sold 33,800 as exports throughout the world to regions such as Japan and Europe.

Maruti Suzuki executive director R S Kalsi says, “The Baleno is one of the big success stories of the Indian auto industry. It is truly a symbol of Make In India.”
