On November 7, the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame (JAHFA) announced its four yearly awards for 2016-2017. Headlining the four award winners was the Toyota Prius and its development group, which were awarded the JAHFA Car of the Year.
The Japan Automotive Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization headed by Chairman Yasuhei Oguchi, Honorary President of the Shibaura Institute of Technology. Every year, the JAHFA awards the best passenger car for that year and its development group.
The Prius was named this yearâ€™s winner with high ratings for its innovative architecture including its pursuit of Toyotaâ€™s Iconic Human-Tech concept and Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), as well as its refined user interface.
Moreover, the Import Car of the Year went to the Volkswagen Golf Touran, the Car Design of the Year to the Daihatsu Move Canbus, and the Technology of the Year to the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell.
