Hino Motors’ domestic production up for first time in five months; August results

Hino Motors announced its results of production, domestic sales and exports for August 2016. According to these results, global production grew 12.1% from the previous year to 13,975 units, resulting in a surplus of the fourth consecutive month.

Domestic production climbed for the first time in five months, rising 7.7% yoy to 11,176 units. Production overseas also went up with a substantial increase of 33.7% yoy to 2,799 units as a result of growth in Asia.

Moreover, domestic sales increased 8.8% yoy to 4,623 units, recording a surplus for the fifth month in a row. Hino’s market share of commercial trucks went up 0.7 percentage points to 34.6%.

Exports, due to reduced shipments to North America, Oceania, the Middle East and Africa, fell for the 19th straight month as it declined 3.1% yoy to 5,575 units.
