Nissan postpones deliveries of new Serena for potentially defective idling stop function

On August 24, Nissan Motor Company released its all-new Serena in Japan. However, deliveries of the Serena have been temporarily postponed.

The postponement is due to a possible defect to its idling stop function. There have been three incidents with the new Serena where the engines failed to restart after they were shut off with the idling stop function.

As a result, Nissan decided to temporarily suspend deliveries of the Serena from the end of August. Nissan will investigate the cause of the defect and will recommence deliveries once the issue is solved.
