Mitsubishi will recall one of its primary models sold in the US, the Outlander Sport (known as the RVR in Japan).
This recall was announced by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), stating that they had received a notice from Mitsubishi’s American subsidiary, Mitsubishi Motors North America, regarding the recall.
This recall has to do with the vehicle’s drive system. According to the NSTSA, the CVT hose on the 2.0 liter vehicle can potentially come unhinged, leading to transmission fluid leakage.
Units subject to recall are all Outlander Sports manufactured between June, 2014 and November, 2015, accounting for approximately 45,731 units in the US.
Mitsubishi Motors North America has contacted all owners of vehicles subject to recall. Inspections and replacements of the fittings for CVT hoses will be performed at dealerships.
