On August 1, Toyota Indian manufacturing and sales subsidiary Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) released its July new car sales figures. Total sales were 13,748 units including exports. This is 0.4% up from the previous year’s July and represents the 3rd month of year-on-year growth.
Of the total, 12,404 units were domestic sales. This is up 2.7% and marks the 3rd month of growth.
Camry sales were favorable and 90% of all Camry sales were hybrid models. The new Innova Crysta minivan, which was released in May, has a two-month waiting period.
Since April, TKM has been exporting its locally produced Etios series. It exported 1,344 Etios models in July. This is 17.5% down from the previous year and marks the 4th month of decrease.
TKM Director and Senior Vice President (Sales & Marketing) N Raja said, “Innova Crysta orders are favorable. We apologize to our customers for the wait.”
