According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Mitsubishi Motors North America has issued a recall for a previous model of its flagship SUV, the Outlander.
The recall is due to a defect in the Outlander’s suspension. According to the NHTSA, melted snow on the front lower control arm’s cross member could cause corrosion and potentially cause it to fall out.
The recall applies to 2003-2006 Outlander models and 2007-2013 Outlander V6 models.
Mitsubishi North America is contacting owners of the affected cars. Corrosion levels will be assessed at dealerships and front cross members will be replaced.
