According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a recall has been issued for Nissan’s flagship compact sedan, the Sentra, in the US.
This recall is over a defect in the airbags. According to the NHTSA, some models may have a defect in the wiring installation for their connectors in the passenger side airbag. As a result, the airbag may not inflate in the case of an accident.
The recall applies to 2016 models that were built between February and March 2016 and sold in the United States. Nissan North America is contacting owners of affected vehicles and carrying out inspection and exchange at dealerships.
