The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the US announced that it has been notified of a recall for the Nissan Leaf from Nissan North America.
This recall pertains to a defective airbag. According to the NHTSA, as the wiring harness connector may not be properly connected to the dual-stage front passenger airbag, there are concerns that the airbag may not deploy in case of an accident.
The recall applies to 2016 models of the Nissan Leaf produced between early February and early March of this year and sold within the US market.
Nissan North America will contact the owners of these vehicles and inspect and replace the defective passenger airbags if necessary at their dealerships.
