On July 11, Isuzu announced that it had made a basic agreement for a pickup partnership with Mazda.
Through the recognized merits to both companies, the agreement basically stipulates that Isuzu will provide an OEM pickup to Mazda in a collaborative relationship for over ten years. The pickup will come from the new pickup built by Isuzu. Mazda will sell its version in all countries worldwide except for North America.
Mazda will benefit by the cost savings or producing at large scale and thus further increase its competitiveness. Mazda will produce cars based on Isuzu’s highly competitive pickup truck and continue its market coverage.
Both companies are now working out the specific details of the agreement.
