On July 1, Honda Cars India Limited published Honda’s June new car sales figures for India.
Total June sales were 11,497 units, not including exports. This is 38% down from the same month last year and marks the 8th consecutive month of decline.
Of the 11,407 unit total, the City compact sedan sold 3,581 units, making it the best-selling model for the 9th straight month. The Fit followed with 2,593 units, and the Amaze compact was third with 1,617 units. The Brio sold 359 units, the Mobilio sold 140, and the CR-V sold 53.
The BR-V SUV, which was introduced in April, sold 3,064 units. Its exports from India were up 12.3% at 393 units.
Honda India new car sales for 2015 (April 2015 to March 2016) were up 2% at 192,059 units. This makes 2015 the company’s third straight year of record high sales.
