On May 19, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced that its global sales of the Outlander PHEV have reached the 100,000-unit mark.
The Outlander PHEV was released to the Japanese market in 2012. In 2013, it was introduced in Europe (excluding the UK) and Australia. In the following year, it was made available to the UK as well.
This milestone was achieved in approximately four years since the Outlander PHEV debuted back in 2012.
The over 100,000 units comprises 33,730 units of sales in Japan, 21,052 units of sales in the UK, and 2,015 units of sales in Australia.
The UK, in particular, makes up 20% of the Outlander PHEV’s global sales with over 20,000 units sold in around two years since its 2014 release.
