On April 28, Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) commented on its improper conduct on the fuel consumption testing data submitted to the Ministry of Land Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on April 20.
MMNA confirmed, “Mitsubishi vehicles sold in the US are not impacted by the fuel consumption testing data irregularities.â€
The improper conduct on Mitsubishi’s mini car fuel consumption testing data, which was revealed in Japan, applies to a total of 625,000 units of Mitsubishi’s eK Wagon and eK Space, and OEM versions of Nissan’s Dayz and Dayz Roox. These mini cars are exclusively made for the Japanese market.
MMNA said, “After a thorough review conducted by Mitsubishi Motors R&D America, Inc. together with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Japan, we can confirm that the fuel economy testing data for U.S. market vehicles is accurate and complies with established EPA procedures.â€
