On April 1, Honda Cars India Limited published the company’s India new car sales for March.
According to the company, March’s sales totaled 17,430 including imports. This is a 23.2% year-over-year decrease and marks the 5th month of decrease.
Of the 17,430, the City compact sedan represented 5,662 units. It has been the biggest selling model for six months. The next biggest seller was the Amaze compact with 5,223 units sold. Third place was the new Fit with 3,683 units. The Brio sold 2,158 units and the CR-V sold 94 units.
The Mobilio, which was introduced in India in July 2014, sold 610 units. Exports from India for March were 193.
Honda’s 2014 India new car sales (April 2014 to March 2015) set a new record at 189,062 units. This was a significant 41% increase over the previous year. For 2015 (April 2015 to March 2016), sales were up 2% at 192,059 units, marking the third straight year of record-setting sales.
