Direct connection of Narita International Airport and tourist attractions through an express bus

From Narita Airport to tourist attractions, express bus that connects to Nikko, Niigata, Toyama, & Kanazawa

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT) announced that they will open an express bus route that directly connects Narita International Airport, where many low-cost carriers (LCC) arrive and depart, to Nikko, Niigata, Toyama, and Kanazawa, and maintain tourist attraction environments for foreign tourists visiting in Japan by providing multilingual bus ticket reservations and settlements and the like.

MLIT launched a promotion convention for the utilization of express buses and LCCs towards expanding the encouragement of domestic tourism as well as international tourism in December 2015, and considered these activities for promoting the use of express buses and LCCs in order to encourage the regional tourist attractions for the increasing number of foreign tourists visiting Japan.

This time, they are conducting maintenance for LCC-exclusive terminals, and will be establishing a direct express bus route that connects Narita International Airport, where there are many LCCs to Nikko, Niigata, Toyama, and Kanazawa.

This service will start in Niigata, Toyama, and Kanazawa on April 4, and in Nikko on April 22. Through the direct connection of Narita Airport and regional tourist attractions for Japanese and foreign tourists, this will be more convenient. This initiative objective unifies the government and people by guaranteeing and enhancing the access to the destinations with the linkage of LCC hub airports and express buses as well as promoting these services.

Lastly, in addition to these routes, they are also moving forward in conducting environmental maintenance for easy access for foreign tourists in the established connecting routes in Narita International Airport, Kyoto, and Osaka by enabling multilingual ticket reservation and payment services.
