On March 1, Honda Cars India Limited released its new car sales figures for February.
According to the figures, February sales not including exports totaled 13,020 units. This is a 23% year-over-year decrease and marks the fourth month of decrease.
The City compact sedan represented 4,880 units of the total, making it the best-seller for the fifth straight month. Second place was the Amaze compact with 4,069 units sold. The new Fit stopped at third place with 3,365 units sold. The Brio sold 399 and the CR-V sold 81.
The Mobilio, which was released in India in July, 2014, sold 226 units. Exports from India totaled 690 units.
Honda’s India new car sales for fiscal year 2014 (April 2014 to March 2015) set a new record at 189,062 units. This is a significant 41% year-over-year increase. Sales for the period from April 2015 to February 2016 were up 5% over the same period the previous year at 174,629 units.
