Toyota to suspend production at all domestic plants from February 8

Toyota Motor Corporation announced that it will be suspending operations at all of its plants from February 8.

Due to a delay in production of parts as a result of an explosion that occurred at Aichi Steel Corporation manufacturing facility, Toyota has announced that all production on its vehicle assembly lines within Japan will be suspended from February 8 to 13.

Moreover, Toyota has designated February 8 as a holiday for all plants including those that are directly owned and operated by the automaker.

Toyota will continue to take measures to minimize the impact on automobile production, which includes production on alternate lines at Aichi Steel and outsourcing production to other steelmakers.
