Hino Motors’ worldwide production decreases for the first time in six years in 2015

According to Hino Motors’ production, domestic sales, and export results for January to December 2015, the worldwide production volume decreased for the first time in six years, down 4.1% year-on-year to 174,983 units.

For the first time in six years, the production in Japan is lower in comparison to last year, down 7.9% year-on-year to 149,650 units.

Meanwhile, the sales in Japan are on its sixth consecutive years of year-on-year growth, up 6.5% to 61,174 units. Hino Motors’ share in the medium-duty truck market is 37.3%, one point higher than last year.

The exports are lower than that of the previous year, down 12.9% year-on-year to 79,385 units, a decline for the third consecutive year. This was because of the reduced number of exports to Central and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
