Mazda to recall additional 370,000 units in the U.S. for faulty Takata air bags

There is a massive global recall due to faulty Takata air bags (recovery and repair are free of charge). Because of faulty Takata air bags, Mazda will recall additional 370,000 units in the United States.

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration revealed that Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) reported that it will recall three more models.

The additional recall in the United States covers the model years 2003-2008 of the Atenza, the 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed Atenza, and the 2004 RX-8.

It has been discovered that the front passenger side air bag inflator of these models is defective. In the United States, the additional recall covers a total of 375,519 units.

MNAO will notify the customers affected by this recall. The front passenger side air bag will be replaced at the dealership.
