Honda’s North America production sets new record at 1,860,000 in 2015

With the release of its regional production figures for 2015 on January 11, Honda announced that it had set a new record for production in 2015.

According to American Honda, total North American production for 2015 was 1,862,491 units. This is a 3.1% increase over the previous year and a new record.

Honda has 8 production facilities in North America. In 2015, the rate of Honda and Acura cars produced locally for sale in North America surpassed 99%.

This is particularly true of the Honda brand’s three flagship models, the Civic, CR-V and Accord were built locally in North America. These three set a new record for US sales in 2015 with over 300,000 units sold.

American Honda Executive Vice President John Mendel said, “We’d like to thank all of the customers who have supported the whole Honda lineup.”
