On January 5, Subaru Of America published its new car sales figures for 2015. Total sales set a new record at 582,675 units. This is a year-over-year increase of 13.4% and marks the 7th straight year of increase.
The best seller was the Forrester. It broke its previous sales record with 175,192 units sold, a very favorable 9.5% increase over the previous year.
Sales of the company’s other flagship model the Outback were also favorable. It set a new record with 152,294 units sold, a year-over-year increase of 9.7%. The Legacy saw an increase of 15.6%, selling a total of 60,447 units.
The XV Crosstrek, which was introduced in September 2012, also sold well. It set a new record with 88,927 units sold, a significant 25.3% increase over the previous year.
The WRX Series, which includes the WRX STI, set a new record with 33,734 units sold. This is a massive 32.3% increase over last year. Impreza sales not including WRX models were 66,785 units. This is 15.2% over the previous year.
