On January 4, 2016, Honda Cars India Ltd. revealed the new car sales results in India for December 2015.
According to the report, their overall sales in December amounted to 12,379 units (excluding cars for export). It dropped 14.2% year-on-year, and it continued to drop for two consecutive months year-on-year as well.
For the breakdown of the 12,379 units, 6,366 out of it were Honda City small sedan unitsâ€”it had the most number of sales for three consecutive months. Next, the 2,933 units were Amaze compact cars. The all-new Fit accounts for 2,602 of those units. Lastly, the remaining 221 units were from the Brio, and 65 units were from the CR-V.
In addition, they also sold 192 units of the all-new Mobilio, which was introduced in the Indian market in July 2014. They achieved a total of 364 units exported from India in December.
Honda’s new car sales in India in fiscal year 2014 (April 2014 – March 2015) set a new record with 189,062 units. It greatly increased 41% year-on-year. They achieved 10% increase of sales from April to December 2015 with 144,474 units.
