Nissan recalls 2015 Rogue due to defective shift lever

Nissan Motor Company will be conducting a recall on their Rogue (the X-Trail in Japan) SUV for the US market. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the US announced, “We have been notified of a recall for the Rogue by Nissan North America.”

This recall concerns a defect to its shift lever. According to NHTSA, there is the possibility that the shift lever could shift out of the park position even without stepping on the brake pedal.

The recall applies to 33,880 units of the 2015 Nissan Rogue that were produced and sold in the US.

Nissan North America will be contacting the owners of these vehicles. Inspections will be conducted at their dealerships and the shift lever will be replaced if necessary.
