On December 11, Nissan North America published its US new car sales for November. Total sales for the month set a new record for November at 107,083 units. This is a 3.8% year-over-year increase and marks the 3rd straight month of year-over-year increase.
November set a new record for the Nissan brand, which saw total sales of 95,389, a 3.9% year-over-year increase which makes it the 3rd straight month of increase. For passenger cars, the flagship Altima sold 220,564 units. This is a 9.9% decrease which marks the 2nd month of decrease. The Sentra sold 14,505 units, a 7.2% increase which marks the 3rd straight month of increase over the last year. The Versa sold 9,783 units, making a 5.4% increase and the 4th month of increase. The new Maxima, which was released in June, saw an 18.3% increase in sales at 3,884 units, marking its 2nd month of increase.
For light trucks including SUVs, pickups and minivans, the Rogue, which underwent a model change and was released in December 2013, set a new record for November at 22,565 units sold. This is a 49.8% increase over the previous year and marks the 16th straight month of increase. The Frontier compact pickup’s sales continued their downward trend, dropping 19.5% at 5,099 units. The new Murano rose 45.2% at 5,574 units.
The Infiniti brand saw a 2.6% increase with 11,694 units sold, marking its 10th straight month of year-over-year increase. The flagship Q50 sold 3,782 units, a drop of 10.3% that marks the 11th month of decrease. The QX60 SUV saw a 27.6% increase from the previous year at 3,736 units, making its 8th month of increase.
Nissan’s 2014 US sales were 1,386,895 units, which was an 11.1% increase over the previous year. The period of January to November 2015 showed a 6% year-over-year increase with a total of 1,345,618 units.
