Maruti Suzuki, Suzuki’s subsidiary in India, a proud top sharer in the Indian new car market (for automobiles), presented the results of their new car sales in India for November on December 1, 2015. They were able to sell a total of 120,824 units including their exports. It increased 9.7% year-on-year, and has achieved eight consecutive months increase year-on-year.
As for the breakdown of the 120,824 units sold, 110,599 units were sold within India. Compared to the 10.6% in the same month of last year, their sales have been continuously positive for 19 consecutive months already. They sold 10,225 units for export, a 1% increase year-on-year, and two consecutive months increase as of now.
As for the car classification, they sold a total of 89,479 units of the main A-segment Alto, the Wagon R, the Celerio, the Swift, the Ritz (Japanese name: Splash), the A-Star, the Dzire, and more. It achieved 8.7% increase year-on-year, and has been in positive shape for eight consecutive months.
As for vans, they sold 12,432 units of the Omni and the Eeco. It achieved 1.9% increase year-on-year, and has been in positive shape for two consecutive months. As for utility vehicles like SUVs and MPVs, they sold 8,688 units of the Ertiga MPV, including the S-Cross, in November. It achieved a 57.5% increase year-on-year, and has been in positive shape for seven consecutive months.
Maruti Suzuki achieved a record high for new car sales of 1,292,415 units (including cars for export) in fiscal year 2014 (April 2014-March 2015), exceeding the 1,271,005 unit sales in FY 2010. They achieved an 11.9% increase year-on-year.
