We want to achieve a record high of 16 million units for automobile sales in USA, says Honda VP Iwamura

Honda Vice President Tetsuo Iwamura stated regarding their automobile sales in their main market in USA at the financial report held in their headquarters on November 4, 2015. “We absolutely want to achieve a record high of 1.6 million units.”

Vice President Iwamura explained, “We were having a tough fight in the first half of the year, but we also introduced new models in the market. We’re having very favorable sales for the Pilot and the HR-V. Particularly, we are currently experiencing shortage of stock for the HR-V. In addition to that, the delivery for the all-new Civic will start on November 12, so I think it can contribute to our sales in the fiscal year 2015.”

Furthermore, he said, “The results for the second half of the year are currently moving forward with a good pace. As for Honda’s sales in USA this fiscal year 2015, we want to achieve a record high sales of 16 million units including the Acura, so we are currently making efforts in our current sales.”

Lastly, he expressed his perspective regarding the entire USA market, “On the first half of 2015, we sold around 16.9 million units, which is a bit lower than 17 million units, but this time, we will certainly exceed 17 million units. I think we will be able to reach our target of 17.3 million units. I think we can also achieve 17 million unit sales in the market next year, and the following year.”
