Asako Hoshino, Nissan Motor Company Senior Vice President and Japan Sales Division in-charge announced on October 20 at the press conference in Yokohama Nissan Global Headquarters that they will be adopting Softbank’s humanoid robot Pepper in Nissan shops nationwide.
Nissan will expand this kind of technology to strengthen its operation in Japan. First, Nissan will be introducing Pepper in 100 branches of Nissan Ladies First shops nationwide to gain attention of female clients. Pepper will be installed with applications exclusively used in Nissan shops.
According to Senior Vice President Hoshino, it can do puzzle games for kids, as well as dancing. “We want our clients and their children to enjoy Pepper’s presence while waiting for the service. Please visit Nissan shops.”
Since Nissan will only release a few models in fiscal year 2015, they are currently focusing on the preparation of their sales network and strengthening their brand hereafter for the fiscal year 2016.
