Toyota recalls portion of new Tacomas sold in US over airbag bolt defect

On October 13, Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. has issued a recall for a portion of the new Acoma.

The recall was due to an airbag defect. Toyota says that there may be a problem with the bolts used for the passenger side knee airbag at the lower portion of the instrument panel.

If these bolts become loose and there is an accident, there is a chance that this airbag will not function.

The recall applies to only about 310 of the 2016 Tacomas sold in the United States.

Toyota is contacting affected customers and offering to exchange the bolts at its dealerships.
