Mazda cars were gathered in Miyoshi, Hiroshima on a clear autumn weather. The Miyoshi Proving Ground 50th Anniversary Mazda Fan Meeting was held in Mazda Miyoshi Proving Ground on September 20. Mazda fans from all over the country has enjoyed their “Mazda time” at the place where the Cosmo Sport and the Roadster were tested.
Mazda Product Head and Project Manager Munenori Yamaguchi, who talked with passionate Mazda fans for about 30 to 40 minutes, said while smiling, “Since I began handling the FD, and I also worked on the Roadster, being able to meet avid fans of these Mazda cars made me really happy. It made me teary-eyed when I saw families enjoying themselves together. I had very deep conversations with the car owners, like when we talked about the FD, that I almost forgot about the time.”
As of 11:00 A.M., there were 1,864 Mazda fans (among these are 150 children), and 1,047 cars in the venue, in which 77 of those cars were exhibited by Mazda car owners. At around 10:00 A.M., there was an observation bus tour within the Proving Ground, and a long line at the ticket distribution area for the highway riding experience.
In the venue, the attendees viewed the exhibited cars while enjoying their lunch, joined the games, and lined up for the technology experience; there were also Mazda staff everywhere who spoke in the Hiroshima dialect to many attendees.
“Can you please take a photo of me? Can I take a photo? Is it okay if I take a photo in front of the car?”
