On September 2, American Honda announced that it had issued a recall for the 2015 Fit.
The cause of this recall is a defect in the engine plug. According to American Honda, the plug top ignition coils could degrade over time and, in a worst case scenario, there is a risk that the engine could stop.
The recall applies to some models sold in the United States. It applies to about 17,800 cars.
American Honda is contacting drivers of the affected cars. At dealerships, the plugs are being exchanged free of charge.
American Honda announced that at present, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries due to the defect.
