Toyota holds groundbreaking ceremony for new production engineering center in Kentucky

On August 19, Toyota Motor Corporation held a ceremony to commence construction of their new production engineering center in Kentucky, USA.

This new building is being built in Georgetown, Kentucky and will become the new base for Toyota’s North American production engineering team.

The 250,000 sq. ft. structure will feature a test lab and workspace for its approximate 700 employees.

Toyota has invested $80 million into this Georgetown project, which is expected to be complete in 2017.

Toyota North America’s CEO Jim Lentz said, “Bringing Toyota’s production engineering team together under one roof is a major element of unifying our North American operations.”
