TEIN establishes first overseas factory in Suqian Jiangsu, China

On July 8, TEIN, Inc. held the opening ceremony of the TEIN Shock Absorber Manufacturing (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., the first overseas company of TEIN established in Suqian Jiangsu, China.

TEIN Shock Absorber Manufacturing (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., and its new productions will commence. It is a new production base set to manufacture products exported to North America, Europe, and other Asian countries, and for China’s internal demands.

Its land area is about 20,000 square meters, its estimated capital is about 1.08 billion yen, and its estimated total cost is about 2.7 billion yen. Its production capacity (line) is forecasted to be 300,000 in FY 2015, 600,000 in FY 2016, 900,000 in FY 2017, and 1.2 million in FY 2018.

Yasushi Kobayashi, the company director of TEIN Shock Absorber Manufacturing (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., said at the press conference, “We are selling two products at the China factory. One is the sports suspension which has a vehicle height adjustment function. We want to expand and continue selling it with an affordable price. The other one is a suspension for general customers, specifically for replacement. We will replace the suspension within one year, considering there are many roads in Russia, India, and other countries that are not yet developed. We want to export premium parts in their original shape, with better value and durability in such areas throughout the world.”
