On July 3, Nissan Motor Company announced that it will be handing out free tickets for first time rides on their new NV200 Taxi at six locations in Tokyo.
The NV200 Taxi is based on Nissan’s multi-purpose commercial model, the NV200 (the NV200 Vanette, in Japan). There are approximately 700 of these taxis being driven around the city of New York and about 200 of its electric model, the e-NV200 offering services throughout Europe. With its expansion around the world, the NV200 taxi will be available in Japan starting on June 8 at 46 taxi companies.
For this promotion, Nissan is offering a trial of these taxis featuring both Japanese and foreign models to provide a multicultural atmosphere. Tickets for free rides as well as catalogues outlining the features of these taxis will be handed out at the Yaesu and Marunouchi exits of Tokyo station along with five other locations throughout the next five weeks.
