Toyota Mobility Foundation to launch project in Vietnam to combat urban traffic problems

The Toyota Mobility Foundation announced that it has chosen for its second project a program in the Vietnamese city of Đà Nẵng to deal with traffic issues related to rapid growth in mid-sized urban areas.

The TMF revealed that it had carried out its first pilot program in April this year in Bangkok, Thailand. The Vietnamese project will be its second. Both programs are based on the TMF’s goal of creating a world that’s safer and easier to navigate through partnerships between Toyota’s know-how and the expertise of local government and universities.

The new project will establish a community bus service and a park & ride program that connect residential areas to the heart of the city. The program seeks to build a shuttle service to connect commuters to the city which will bring future-minded urban planning to the city.
