Toyota issued a recall to the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on May 27 for the Lexus NX200t and other models over a default in the Antilock Brake System (ABS).
The recall applies to a total of 1,077 Lexus NX200t, Toyota Alphard, and Toyota Vellfire cars built from November 11, 2014, to February 3, 2015.
A component in the relief valve plug is improperly formed, which could cause contamination in the resin during assembly. This foreign substance could enter areas like the hydraulic control valve, thus causing the pressure to delay when ABS is activated and compromising safety.
To fix the defect, manufacturer serial numbers for all ABS relief valve plugs are being checked and for those affected, replacement parts will be exchanged.
There have been no reports of the defect or any accidents. The defect was reported by Toyota.
