Mazda North America announced on April 16 that the Mazda6 (Atenza in Japan) has been chosen as one of the 10 Best Interiors of 2015 by the Ward’s Auto World magazine.
This award, whose evaluation is based on the vehicles’ interior, is based only in North America. The editor of the magazine selects a vehicle with excellent interior among new vehicles and vehicles given facelift introduced in 2014.
The selection criteria are design, comfort, clarity of information display, quality, safety, and others. The Engine of the Year is published every year by Ward’s Auto World, and it is famous as the “Oscars” for engines, which standardly chooses a single engine annually.
The 2016 model of the Atenza for the United States was significantly improved. They changed the design of the dashboard and used an electric parking brake. They also applied improvements on the front and rear seats.
Furthermore, the Atenza’s Grand Touring grade was awarded the 10 Best Interior of 2015. Tom Murphy, senior editor of Ward’s Auto World magazine, commented about the reason the Atenza was awarded, “The newly improved Atenza has an improved interior and it has a difference from other rival vehicles. The newly improved interior is the most advanced.”
