On February 9, Mitsubishi Motors announced that its subsidiary, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand (MMTh) has begun exporting their all-new Triton pickup trucks.
Along with enhanced functionality and reliability as a pickup, the all-new Triton was developed to become the “ultimate sport utility truck†with the comfortable interior of a passenger car. Released last November to the Thai market, the Triton is scheduled for export to approximately 150 countries starting with the Philippines, followed by ASEAN, Oceania, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
On the same day, MMTh held a ceremony at their Laem Chabang Plant to commemorate the start of exports for the Triton. Amongst those in attendance were Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Tetsuro Aikawa, members from the Thai government, and associated clients.
At the ceremony, President Aikawa said, “MMTh began exporting pickup trucks back in 1991 and to this date has shipped over 1.6 million trucks overseas. They intend on continuing to grow together with the automotive industry in Thailand hereafter.â€
