Toyota Motor Corporation announced its global production and sales plans for 2015 on January 21st. TMC estimates the global sales for both Toyota and Lexus brands to be almost the same as last year, up 0.4% year-on-year to 9.18 million units.
Although Toyota projects its domestic sales to drop 7% because of the deteriorating sales environment, they expect their overseas sales to increase 2% to 7.73 million units. They also predict sales in America to increase 3% to 2.44 million units, in Europe to be the same as last year at 890,000 units, and in China to increase 7% to 1.1 million units.
For the first time in China last 2014, Toyota sold more than one million units because of the new Corolla; up 12.5% year-on-year to 1,032,400 units. They, however, were short of their 2014 sales target. Toyota aims to set a new record in 2015 because they have included the plans to release their hybrid components into the market.
